Stand-up, Sketch, and Improv Veterans attempt the impossible... To write and perform a brand new sketch comedy show every weekend in July!  Alan Metoskie, Jason Newman, and Chuck Watkins join forces as the DNA-holes to bring to the SVT stage, "30 Days of Comedy". Each week they tackle new issues of social import with only 7 days to write, rehearse, and produce each show.  The excitement of it all may very well blast your soul into the oblivion of outer space.  Just warning you...

Austin Puppet Society Presents: Outer Dark Stage Cabaret
Every Friday in July, the AUSTIN PUPPET SOCIETY transforms the second stage into an after-hours CABARET with ACTS FROM THE OUTER DARK, drawn from the venerable stage arts of PUPPET,CLOWN, SONG and STORY.
Each show will run approximately 45 mins. to 1 hr. and feature musical acts, stand-up comedy, clowning and puppets, all strictly for adults. All are welcome to bring your instruments, props or puppets and take the stage during transitions from one act to another. Performers will include Dot Smith of Snaggletooth Theater, Heather Jarry, Ricki Vincent of Geppetto Dreams, Connor Hopkins' TroublePuppet Theater Company, Kevin Cox, and others.

- "The Next Tim Day” by Austin's own Ben Steinbauer
The Next Tim Day follows the rise of entrepreneur extraordinaire Tim Day from the housing projects of Galveston, Texas and federal prison to the shimmering lights of the Sundance Film Festival. The documentary is a quintessential American story about an African American salesman/hustler who pulls himself out of the ghetto and into the spotlight by creating a one-man television network called “Hood News.” - SXSW 07.

- "Death to the Tinman" by Ray Tintori
A visually stunning, totally unique adaptation of the origin story of the Tinwoodman of Oz, based on a later novel by L. Frank Baum. The film epicts the mostly unknown, dark, and romantic story of how the Tinwoodman lost his limbs, his heart, his lover, and how he fought to get her back. - Sundance 07, SXSW 07, Waterfront FF 07

- "End of a Dog" by John Morgan from UCLA
A grouchy loner (Jon Cryer) returns home one afternoon to find his not-so-beloved dog Hedda, dead. In an urban cement jungle, Kenneth must find an appropriate burial site. - Florida FF, Palm Springs, Ojai FF, Edmonton FF, Omaha FF, Rhode Island FF

- "Ballyvaughan Story" by Sara Pocock
Based on a true story, this animation tells the tale of a 13-year old Irish girl in 1921 and the trials she must overcome to save her town from the British. - Newport Beach FF, Palm Springs FF, Sacramento FF, Austin FF

- “Loops: A Portrait of Caddy Life” by M.H. Dhar
This short documentary captures the hopes, fears, regrets, and ambitions of 3 caddies working at Winged Foot Golf Club. - SXSW 07, South Asian FF

- “Build Your Own Volcano” by Benjamin Hayes, former Austinite now in the MFA program at Florida State University.
Michael’s been numb to the world ever since his divorce, but his daughter Margaret’s upcoming visit will change all that. As Michael helps to build a miniature volcano, he finds his own buried emotions bubbling to the surface.
