SVT REWRITES THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS FOR 07-08 TOUR
The Show Is Booked Nationally Through May

(Austin, TX) –Salvage Vanguard Theater's long-running hit The Intergalactic Nemesis continues its national tour in the 2007-8 theatrical season with a heavily rewritten script and an Austin launch June 30.

"After an incredible coast-to-coast tour in 2006-7, we got some wonderful, consistent feedback on the material," says SVT's artistic director Jason Neulander. "We've rewritten the show based on that feedback and I have to say, I think the new script takes the original chapter of the trilogy to a whole new level."

In January, Neulander approached Nemesis veteran Chad Nichols to co-author the new version. More than 75 percent of the script is now new material.

"There have been things in the script that have bugged me for years," continues Neulander. "Like why does Timmy chew taffy or how can we incorporate the fact the Ben is a librarian in the plot. We've resolved this issues and a whole bunch more."

Salvage Vanguard Theater is presenting The Intergalactic Nemesis for two performances only June 30, at 2:00 and 8:00 PM at the new Salvage Vanguard Theater, 2803 Manor Road, before taking it to a two-week run in New York City. The Austin showing is free.

"We're hoping to get some great support locally before we test the new material on a New York audience," says Neulander.

Based on the success of the tour, Neulander is planning a commercial run of the show to open in 2008. The July performances in New York give him the opportunity to test the material on a New York audience, generate investor interest, and begin the process of building the marketing campaign.

"We're excited to wrap up two years of touring with a show at the Paramount," says Neulander. "Eleven years ago, when we first produced Nemesis, I dreamed about performing the show in that venue. I'm pretty psyched to have that dream come true."
