SVT RECEIVES GRANT FROM WEBBER FAMILY FOUNDATION THEATER COMPANY MOVES INTO CONSTRUCTION PHASE
(Austin, TX)--Today Salvage Vanguard Theater received word that the Webber Family Foundation, based in Austin, is providing a $35,000 grant towards the construction of its new facility.
"We are through the roof with excitement," exclaimed Jason Neulander, Salvage Vanguard Theater's artistic director.
The Webber Family Foundation funds educational programs that will have a sustained impact in Central Texas. The funds for this grant will be used to construct the classroom space in Salvage Vanguard Theater's new facility.
Neulander continues: "Basically what this does for us is puts us past the preparation phase and into the construction phase. Thanks to this grant, all of our pre-construction costs are now paid for: the permits, the plans, and overhead. Every check we receive from this point forward will go straight into the bricks and mortar of our new home."
Salvage Vanguard Theater anticipates breaking ground on the new facility, located at 2803 Manor Road, in mid-January. The facility will house a gallery, 100-seat theater space, a classroom that will double as a second-stage, a scene shop, a costume shop, 11 visual artist studios, and SVT's offices.
