SVT Goes MP3

AUSTIN, TX--Salvage Vanguard Theater has updated its website to include two high-quality recordings: "Primary Red Awash" from The Cry Pitch Carrolls and "Episode One: A Strange Warning" from The Intergalactic Nemesis. Both recordings are in MP3 format and are available for free listening and downloading on the website.

"Primary Red Awash" was recorded live at a performance of The Cry Pitch Carrolls in December 1999, and has lyrics by Ruth E. Margraff, music by Golden Arm Trio, and is sung by Becky Stark with Joseph Meissner. The Cry Pitch Carrolls was hailed by The Austin Chronicle as "nothing less than a small miracle" and the Austin American-Statesman said the show was "riveting ... what ties it all together is the music. ... Only once in a very long while have we seen anything this mesmerizingly original." "Primary Red Awash" is currently available for free on the Salvage Vanguard website and is part of the upcoming release of the CD of The Cry Pitch Carrolls. The CD is due out in March 2001, when the company will present the play's companion piece, Wallpaper Psalm.

"Episode One: A Strange Warning" from The Intergalactic Nemesis is also available for free on the Salvage Vanguard Theater website. The Austin Chronicle called the show, which was recorded live at the State Theatre on May 30, 2000, "refreshing ... historic ... a cast of some of Austin's finest." The recording features the foley art of Buzz Moran, with John DeFore and Ben Anderson, the music of Golden Arm Trio, and the voices of Lindsay Doleshal, Corey Gagne, Ben Willcott, Dan Dietz, Chad Nichols, David Sangalli, and Jason Neulander. The free recording is part of the complete series of six episodes which is currently available in a double-disc set on the website. Salvage Vanguard Theater is presenting the sequel, Return of the Intergalactic Nemesis, in June 2001.
