Hailed by the Austin American-Statesman as a "smart, thought-provoking, and adroit production," Dan Dietz' Dirigible won the 1999 Austin Critics Table Award for Best New Play. Jason Neulander, the show's director, was nominated for Best Director of a Comedy for his work on the production. A truly postmodern show, Dirigible is Dr. Aaron Treadwell's lecture on the sabotage of the Hindenburg--interspersed with a 70s sit-com, film noir, and a famous pointillist painting. The play will tour to the New York International Fringe Festival with its original cast. Award-winning actress Stephanie Swenson returns as Laura Treadwell, Corey Gagne plays the Saboteur, and Michael Kranes revives his role as Dr. Aaron Treadwell.
