Salvage Vanguard Theater Nominated for 14 Critics' Awards

Austin, TX--The Austin Critics' Table Award nominations came out today and Salvage Vanguard Theater is nominated for 14 awards.

Salvage Vanguard Theater's productions received nominations in the following categories: Best Original Script (The Cry Pitch Carrolls by Ruth E. Margraff), Best Production of a Comedy (Terminal Hip by Mac Wellman), Best Production of a Drama (Venus by Suzan-Lori Parks), Best Production of a Musical (The Cry Pitch Carrolls by Ruth E. Margraff), Best Director of a Comedy (Jason Neulander for Terminal Hip), Best Director of a Drama (Jason Neulander for Venus), Best Director of a Musical (Jason Neulander for The Cry Pitch Carrolls), Best Actor in a Comedy (Dan Dietz in Terminal Hip), 4 Best Supporting Actress nominations (Lana Lesley, Becky Stark, Shawn Sides, and April Matthis for The Cry Pitch Carrolls), Best Set Design (Kristin T. Abhalter for The Cry Pitch Carrolls and Venus), and Best Lighting Design (Ruth Hutson for The Cry Pitch Carrolls).

Salvage Vanguard Theater's newest production -- The Intergalactic Nemesis, an episodic radio serial with live sound effects -- runs Monday May 29 and Tuesday May 30 at the State Theatre (8th and Congress) at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10. Call 474-SVT-6 for more information.
