Dear Artist or Patron!
Too long have we lived under the weight of a society that undervalues artists! Too long have we bourne the injustices of a world in which the artist/worker slaves away at a day job to support his passion! Too long have audiences lived with the burden of seeing theater that never lives up to its true potential because the artist/worker is too exhausted to do his job well!
Now is the time to celebrate the change that will lead to a brighter future, made possible through a united Salvage Vanguard Labor Party! Every man, woman, and child who values the arts and the artists who make the arts must attend! Strength through unity will achieve theh party line: no more starving artists!
Sunday, September 1, is the day before Labor Day. A day that absolves us of curfews because on September 2 we celebrate the worker by not working! On Sunday, September 1, join the Salvage Vanguard Labor Party at 7 PM at ALLGO. There will be a full cash bar, a silent auction the likes of which has never before been amassed, and previews of the company's upcoming shows, with a particular emphasis on MotherBone, the world premiere opera by Graham Reynolds and Karen Hartman. Show your solidarity in the struggle by honoring Salvage Vanguard's incoming party bosses Dan Dietz and Deanna Shoemaker, operating as the company's new Resident Company Members, and by saying "thank you" to the hard work of Randy Harriman, our outgoing "Agent of Subversive Propaganda", whose cover as KMFA's programming director ends September 30.
All proceeds from the Labor Party go to pay the artists who will create the productions in 2003! And Party Dues are paid on a democratic sliding scale, from $10 and $50! So, say "yes" to the Party revolution and say "no" to starving artists!
