Ah, the nights of Cabiria!
Published by Jason // August 9th, 2006 in The Outside WorldSo, Sarah and Piper (my wife and daughter) are out of town this week with Sarah’s parents. Which has been a great excuse to work on boring SVT stuff, like grantwriting, which–don’t let anyone tell you otherwise–is a really dull activity after you’ve been doing it for 12 years like I have. Anyways…
Last night I watched this AWESOME movie by Fellini called Nights of Cabiria. I don’t want to give anything away, but there’s this magic show in the middle of it that blew my mind! Dude. Everyone should rent this movie. I got it from Netflix, but I bet that Vulcan has it too.
Meanwhile, only a month left until our performance of The Intergalactic Nemesis at the Hogg Memorial Auditorium. Sheesh, I hope people come!
Jesus, is this really the direction Austin theater marketing is headed?
Glad I’m getting the fuck out of here.
Geez, you really hated Nights of Cabiria, didn’t you. I thought it was a good movie. Different strokes, my friend, different strokes. Good luck wherever you’re going!
Ah, Jason, welcome to the wonderful world of blog trolls. I think he’s saying he doesn’t like the blog in general as a marketing tool, but doesn’t have the courage to attach a name to these sentiments.
“Nights of Cabiria”? What are you? A first year film student? Next you’ll be telling us that “Lawerence of Arabia” was overwrought or that Lars von Trier’s “Dogville” was truly a gauntlet toss into the face of Hollywood production standards.
If you really want to have your mind blown, go see “Descent.” A real winner. There’s this allegorical killing and eating scene that shouldn’t be missed. I think it’s making a strong statement in the “Creation vs. Evolution” argument.
Okay I admit it, Descent: a work of pure GENIUS!
