AmericaMisfit by Dan Dietz (OCT 28 - NOV 19)

WE HAD A WORLD PREMIERE. A TRILOGY. A CLASSIC. AND SO MUCH MORE!

2006 was a big year for Salvage Vanguard Theater. BIG. In every sense of the word. First we squeezed 12 brave souls into a hotel room to witness the world premiere of Ryan Pavelchik's STATIC. Then we celebrated the tenth year anniversary of THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS by performing all three installments in rep. And in September we had a giant show with over 1000 people at UTPAC's Hogg Auditorium of the original INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS to kick off our national tour. Then we debuted our new space with another world premiere: Caridad Svich's THRUSH: A Play With Songs. Our new play series SVT READS brought us the workshop production of Svich's THRUSH and Cyndi William's GETTING ACROSS TOWN. Then we shut the year down with all the holiday cheer we could muster for THE 10th BEST SALVAGE VANGUARD HOLIDAY EVER. Wow. 2006, you treated SVT so damn well. What does 2007 have in store?

[ STATIC by Ryan Pavelchick ]

MARCH 31 - MAY 6, 2006
@ THE WOODWARD INN
(3401 S. I-35)

Pavelchik's STATIC is dark, dense piece that twists your innards, gnashing them like a soft pieces of bread that cannot be swallowed, yet gently cradles your heart with a strangely sweet love story about the collision of body, soul and mind.

A young man, dressed in uniform, awakes in a hotel room. With the aide of the television, alarm clock and his digestive tract, he dissects and confronts his past. Set in a hotel room. Performed in a hotel room. Pavelchik's STATIC will leave your guts wrenched, your mind reeling and your heart touched.

[ THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS TRILOGY ]

JUNE 2 - JULY 1, 2006 @
THE BLUE THEATER

For the first time ever: the complete trilogy of our popular science fiction radio drama! Follow Pulitzer-Prize winning reporter Molly Sloan and her equally adventurous archivist love-interest Ben Wilcott as they travel across time, though galaxies near and far and meet a cast of characters ranging from an evil hypnotist Mysterion, to Molly's taffy-addicted sidekick Timmy Mendez, to the brilliant Russian scientist Dr. Zorokof to the German geneticist Dr. Heinemuellerschlossenschlagermeisterschloss.

Every story is different, but the goal is always the same: Save the Universe! THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS Trilogy is the greatest science fiction trilogy ever told. Ever. And don't forget about the amazing Foley Effects by Buzz Moran. Performed in rep. That's right! You can see all three!
